Originally made as a one off, the UnCut chair has been designed to question the juxtaposition between material and object preconceptions. Changing two members of the form to polished Perspex opens up conflicting ideas and values for debate.

This piece takes its name from rough gem stones and plays with the common notion, that these un-assuming rocks need to be cut and polished in order for them to achieve there true perceived value. By doing this to a found object I have changed the way people value the chair and highlighted the beauty of the original design.
